An exact system of generation for face-hobbed hypoid gears: Application to high reduction hypoid gear drives

The determination of the pitch cones for hypoid gears is already well defined either through numerical methods as those shown in Standard ANSI/AGMA ISO 23509-B17 or algorithms available specialized literature. However, a procedure to determine gear tooth surfaces directly from their still missing. An analytical approach basic machine-tool settings pinion and wheel drives proposed here. It based on condition exact generation, which means that will operate under conjugate condition. can be applied generation face-hobbed gears, produced by CycloCut CycloPalloid methods. A example proves goodness methodology high reduction drive. results contact stress analyses prove bearing localized stable against misalignments, requiring just small adjustment application an optimum tip relief minimize maximum pressure.
